Other Campsites at FRFF

There are several other groups of  FRFF regulars who have named their campsites. This list is
by no means complete. If you have a group campsite at FRFF that you want to let people
know about, please email the
webmaster with info.  We also encourage reciprocal links
,
so please let us know if you link to us!

All camp location information below is based on the old FRFF site at Long Hill Farm. Camp locations for
FRFF 2006 are not known at this time, but we expect all these camps to put in an appearance somewhere.
As we learn more about other camps' plans we will post anything we know here.

On the Hillside/Ridge (all-night music area/"Noisy Camping"):

(The Budgiedome is usually at the far left of the ridge, looking uphill from the mainstage/festival entrance area.)

Along the center of the ridge overlooking the festival are:
  • The Front Porch - middle of the ridge.  Old-time volunteers and their friends.  Late-night music.

  • The Big Orange Tarp, a/k/a BOT - on the ridge somewhat to the right of the Budgiedome. A collection of folk music lovers who travel the U.S. from festival to festival, taking the BOT with them. Late night music; song circles.

  • TRIBES HILL : kindred folk is on the far right as you look up the hill. This camp is comprised of a group of Hudson Valley musicians who perform regularly through the year, including a few who have been featured at Falcon Ridge. Late-night music; song circles, pros night.
On the slope:
  • Camp Dar - on the slope above volunteer camping, and downhill from the Budgiedome. Dar Williams fans from the old dar-list email newslist have long camped together at FRFF -- whether Dar is on the bill or not.  Their website and ride-sharing list unfortunately have gone inactive, but the large, tight-knit group of Dar Campers has not dwindled at all.  They say "Anyone is welcome to come camp with us next year! Just come on over, pitch your tent, and introduce yourself!" Late night music; sing-alongs and song circles.
Hilltop Camping:

Behind the ridgeline of camps, but still in the all-night music area:
  • Camp 9 - next to Volunteers' tent.  We're About 9 fans.

  • GFP (George Fox Pavilion) and Dharma Cafe - a/k/a Nields Nookers and Kennedys fans.  Located on the tree line behind the volunteers' tent.  Good food and drink, full bar tent, hot shower, late-night music;  song-circles, sing-alongs, pros night.  Dharma Cafe serves as a separate area for people to noodle around on their instruments and compare notes and chords.

Teepee Hill:

This is the first camping area on your right as you go up the road toward hilltop camping.
  • Happytown - on the small ridge by the dance tent road, look for the blue and white canopy with Buddhist Prayer Flags. Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer fans congregate here. Tracy stopped by in 2003, and was welcomed by a crowd of 100. Late night music: Sing-alongs, song circles.
Lower Camping:
  • Lower Camp Früvous/Camp Edhead/Pirates Patch/the Lobby - lower camping, near the footbridge to mainstage. The downstairs, quieter sister of the Budgiedome. There are Edhead parties here, with ample food and drink, but as this is a quieter camping area there is no late-night music.
